Q: What is the HD I/M program?
A: The Heavy-Duty Inspection and Maintenance (HD I/M) program is a CARB regulation that requires heavy-duty vehicles operating in California to undergo periodic emissions testing to reduce air pollution.
Q: Who needs to get tested?
A: All heavy-duty vehicles over 14,000 pounds GVWR, except for zero-emission vehicles, emergency vehicles, and a few other exemptions, need to be tested.
Q: Do you offer discounts for fleets?
A: Yes, we offer tiered pricing for fleets with 5 or more trucks. Contact us for a custom quote for fleets larger than 15 vehicles.
Q: How long does testing take?
A: Most tests take about 10–20 minutes per vehicle. Larger fleets can be tested efficiently in one visit.
Q: What happens if my truck doesn’t pass?
A: If your truck doesn’t pass, we’ll provide a detailed report so you can make the necessary repairs. Retesting is available at a discounted rate if completed within 30 days.
